LeBron James capped off a pretty incredible year in his career today, following up June’s NBA Championship with another Olympic gold medal, and he did it in the upcoming Nike LeBron X.The LeBron X is inspired, both aesthetically and metaphorically, by the diamond, a precious and nearly indestructible gemstone. The shoe is engineered to prioritize responsiveness, impact protection and dynamic containment, all required for LeBron’s unique skillset.Combining four of Nike’s most innovative technologies, the LeBron X features dynamic Flywire technology, Hyperfuse construction, Nike Plus functionality (though there will also be a non-Plus model) and the first full-length visible Zoom Air unit.At the moment, we know of a Nike LeBron X release date on 1/1/13 and one on 2/15/13, but that’s just two colorways; stay tuned for news on a possible late-2012 release. Retail is set at $180, a $10 increase from the LeBron 9, with the Nike Basketball model running $315.
Famed beverage magnate and part-time basketball enthusiast LeBron James expands his potable empire to include iced, slushy drinks this week, as 7-Elevens nationwide welcome the Sprite 6Mix Slurpee into their delicious frozen libation rotation. The latest flavor of Slurpee is based on the bottled Sprite 6Mix by LeBron James, a limited edition flavor of the famous lemon-lime soda that features a twist of orange and cherry flavors to mimic the way King James drinks Sprite at home.Thirsty LeBron fans can wet their whistles now at participating 7-Elevens throughout the US. Nothing goes together like summer and Slurpees, after all.
