The rumors have been circulating awhile, so this may not come as a big shock, but now we can make it official: The Nike LeBron X Low Watermelon release date is set for August 17.A perfect summer colorway, the shoe sports a predominantly two-tone look, with a pinkish-red Hyperfuse upper contrasted by green on the inner-lining, Flywire strands, outsole and Swoosh-speckling and -outline.It’s not quite as good as actually eating watermelon but, man, it may be a close second. Retail, as always, is set for $165. Quantities shouldn’t be limited, so acquiring a pair won’t be overly arduous, in all likelihood.Nike Air Max LeBron X LowBright Mango/Bright Mango-Gamma GreenStyle #: 579765-80117 August 2013$165Photos courtesy of Long 7.

The three pairs available feature colorways of cool grey/white-midnight navy, sport red/varsity royal-white and light bone/calder brown, for the New Jersey Nets, CSKA Moscow and Cleveland Browns, respectively. The Nets are thought to be a legitimate contender for Bron’s services (but let’s be honest, they’re not), CSKA Moscow was the Russian team that mentioned they’d be willing to pay him a boatload of money if he wanted to cross the Atlantic, to which one of his boys said he would seriously consider such an offer (but of course he wouldn’t, let’s not be absurd) and the Browns colorway is inspired by the public’s constant wondering if LeBron could play football, as well as that State Farm commercial that placed him in a Browns uniform. Nelly has partnered up with Honey Nut Cheerios on a new marketing campaign, “Must be the Honey” (seriously), and to celebrate, the cereal brand has put together some special footwear. Using NIKEiD.com, they’ve created 250 pairs of the Honey Nut Cheerios x Nike LeBron X Must be the Honey, and are distributing them to various celebrities including Angela Simmons and Bow Wow.The shoe sports a predominantly goldish-yellow style, with black through the Zoom Air bag and on the Flywire. That color also works the medial-side text: Bee near the collar, and 79 a bit lower down. (The cereal debuted in 1979.)A special New Era snapback accompanies the shoe, as do campaign-specific lacelocks: one featuring Buzz the Bee’s face and the other boasting “MUST BE THE HONEY.”Additional photos via General Mills.
