It’s safe to say they had officially fallen victim to time and memory, having been remembered mostly, when at all, for winning few games and playing many of their home matches in an aircraft hangar with no air conditioning, meaning the facility’s doors were often open during games to welcome in game-changing ocean breezes.Today however, they again possess a modicum of fame with basketball fans, who now know them as the team that inspired the Miami Heat’s occasional “Floridans” throwback uniforms and, moreover, a near-annual edition of LeBron’s current-at-the-time signature shoe. Today we get another look at this year’s take on the latter, the Nike LeBron 11 Low Floridians.Mixing the tropical style of the Floridians uniforms, the shoe sports orange throughout the sleek, Posite-less upper of the lowtop XI, with occasional pink accents and a speckled grey midsole offering contrast. Not just a throwback-matching homage, the Floridians‘ soft orange upper is a perfect shoe for the summer, fitting, in that it hits retailers June 14.Updates as they develop.Photos via SG.Previous story Supreme x Nike Air Foamposite One Release Date Set!Next story Nike Air Raid UNIVERSITY RED Releases in 10 DaysRelated PostsNike LeBron 11 Low CHINA Release 9/25September 25, 2014Nike LeBron 11 Low CHINA | Official Photos as Release NearsSeptember 22, 2014Nike LeBron 11 Low BISCAYNE Release 9/6September 5, 2014Nike LeBron 11 Low BISCAYNE Release Info, Official PhotosSeptember 2, 2014FacebookSearch NikeBlog.comRecent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!Recent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!MIssionTo provide the most up to date news, images, and opinions on today's top sneaker company.FIND ARTICLESHomeAboutAdvertise on NBContactPrivacyTwitterFacebookRSSNikeBlog.com is not affiliated with the Nike, Inc. brand in any way, shape, or form. Initially, seemingly too outside-the-box a colorway to get a proper release, it appears more and more likely that the Nike LeBron 11 Reverse King’s Pride will indeed hit retailers, an idea that’s only furthered by today’s preview of a GS edition of the shoe.An actual date is still uncertain, but the shoe’s striking good looks are anything but. A black Fuse-and-mesh construction is starkly juxtaposed by wildly colorful print on the Hyperposite piecing, the pattern ostensibly inspired by palm tree leaves although rendered in several colors. A translucent outsole sits beneath and, on this GS editon anyway, a white Swoosh contrasts. (The men’s version sports a jade Swoosh.)While we work on tracking down launch details, check out plenty of shots below, courtesy of SA.
You know how some shoes get really vague, only slightly fitting (if at all) nicknames? (Because every shoe has to have a nickname, for some reason.)The Air Jordan 7 Raptor for example, which earned the paleontological moniker despite only having a color or two in common with the eponymous Toronto hoops franchise, a franchise that didn’t even exist when the shoe debuted. Or, shudder, the “Spider-man” Foamposite Pro, one of the true all-timers in the annals of terrible sobriquets. Well, the Nike LeBron 11 EXT King’s Crown is not one of those shoes.Sure, there’s no actual affiliation with King Lear, or the headgear of King Hippo, for that matter. But the shoe’s beautifully iridescent piecing, which shifts color as the viewing-angle changes and playfully pops against a black molded suede upper, actually looks like a crown. A lot. And it’s King James’s shoe.Stay tuned for release info and check out plenty of shots below, while you thank everything you believe in this didn’t get nicknamed the “C-3PO,” or some such nonsense.Nike LeBron 11 EXT QS“King’s Crown”Style #: 677693-001TBAPhotos via SA.
