Easter Sunday is mere weeks away, a time when church is packed with the religious and less-religious alike, all dressed up in their Sunday best. LeBron James is no stranger to the concept, and it’s that activity and the wardrobe that goes along with it that inspires his latest holiday-themed shoe, the Nike LeBron 11 Low Easter.Incidentally, this is also the first colorway of the LeBron 11 Low, a lower, slimmer shoe that features zonal articulation for maximal flexibility and breathability, and cushioning courtesy of a full-length Max Air bag.But back to that colorway, which rocks a white synthetic upper inspired by the clean, classic sartorial sense of churchgoers, while green paisley accents are a nod to the tropical palm trees of Miami. Upon first glance the shoe is simple, understated, yet flashy and ornate on closer inspection, the ideal spring shoe to bridge the gap between the conservative colorways of winter and summer’s more ostentatious footwear.The Nike LeBron 11 Low Easter release date is set for April 18, alongside the Kobe 9 EM Easter and KD VI Easter. And still one more look ahead to the Nike LeBron 11 Low China, a special edition colorway designed to celebrate Nike and LeBron James’s RISE tour through the country.Looking to the country’s traditional painted porcelain for inspiration, the shoe sports a white upper that’s finished with on-theme blue graphics. The style, which gives the appearance of a hand-painted design, mixes scenery along with traditional imagery like tigers and dragons.Contrast gold jumps off the Swoosh-outline meanwhile, lending the palette a certain regal effect.Alas, the shoe, which is alternately known as the LeBron 11 Low Chinese Vase, is still short a US release date. Initially, seemingly too outside-the-box a colorway to get a proper release, it appears more and more likely that the Nike LeBron 11 Reverse King’s Pride will indeed hit retailers, an idea that’s only furthered by today’s preview of a GS edition of the shoe.An actual date is still uncertain, but the shoe’s striking good looks are anything but. A black Fuse-and-mesh construction is starkly juxtaposed by wildly colorful print on the Hyperposite piecing, the pattern ostensibly inspired by palm tree leaves although rendered in several colors. A translucent outsole sits beneath and, on this GS editon anyway, a white Swoosh contrasts.
